Carnage In Zanesville Ohio
Sometime Tuesday night, October 18th, it appears that Terry Thompson decided to get back at his neighbors and law enforcement personnel one last time.
Someone opened the cages of 56 lions, tigers, leopards, monkeys and a grizzly bear, tore down a perimeter fence and loosed the wile animals on the county.
All but a few have been killed, including one that was hit by a car.
The carnage at a private wildlife preserve in Zanesville, OH, has shocked the world. Anyone who loves animals, from the winner of an Ugliest Dog contest to the Grand Champion of Westminster, has been affected.
Even Jack Hanna, Director Emeritus at the Columbus, OH, zoo explained the necessity of killing the animals for the sake of human safety.
We understand, but it doesn’t ease our hearts.
If you are a praying person, say a prayer for those whose job it is to participate in this tragic event, working with the bodies of the dead animals and Terry Thompson himself.
If you are not a praying person, please hold a kind thought in your heart for them. They will never be able to erase the images from their minds.
