How often do you stop to think about how well our pets have it when it comes to modern veterinary medical care? Read this letter from Albania and you will know it’s not the same everywhere:
Hi Dr Randolph. I just wanted to drop you a quick email to let you know my cat (Monty) made a full recovery from the ingested rat poison via a mouse. He is back to his normal self now, making a lot of noise for food and is back to hunting prey again. We located the source of the rat poison and spoke to the people, they have since removed the poison knowing that Monty is hunting their mice for them.

Thank you for all your help and advice. Without it I am sure he wouldn’t have survived. My veterinarian here in Albania has purchased Vitamin K1 and has had a few cases come to her with exact symptoms and has treated with Vitamin K1 accordingly, all with success. She only had Vitamin K3 to treat with initially but has stopped using that and switched.
The only rat poison we get here is the one that attacks the blood clotting system. My veterinarian is going to spread the information across Albania to other veterinarians in the country in the hope that they can stop any suffering to animals through rat poisoning.
Thank you again for your help. Have a wonderful Christmas.
I have attached a picture of Monty, he was on the mend here being looked after by my dog Bella. She dotes on him and treats him like her own. They sleep cuddled up every night on the sofa.
Kindest Regards, Sue
We take so many things for granted in our modern world. How fortunate Sue was to be able to find the help she needed when she needed it. We love a story with a happy ending!
See you tomorrow, Dr. Randolph.
