Brenda and I took a trip to see the kids and grandkids last weekend. The highlights of the trip were a “girls’ outing” to see the Broadway production of Mama Mia, along with celebration of my birthday. Brenda long ago introduced me to the concept of making one’s birthday last for the entire month! We hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed our visit.

We took a trip to the Louisville MegaCavern. Formerly a limestone mine, it is now being filled from the current 90-foot depth to about 30 feet so that it can be used for storage. The temperature is a constant 58 degrees year-round and humidity is human-controlled. At one time it was designated as a fallout shelter, and still qualifies as a Federal disaster location where a MASH hospital is housed. Many businesses use the location to store sensitive documents and computers, and it makes a perfect overwintering location for boats and RVs.
