I’m having a dream.
And I’m afraid I’m going to wake up.
In the dream my sister and I took our father to an assisted living facility in Corpus Christi and had the manager show him around.
He was falling over himself to get registered for the available apartment right on the spot.
I still don’t believe it.
In the dream, even our mother is on board, though she hasn’t seen the facility from inside.
If I don’t wake up they will move in about ten days and be in the safe, protected, uniform environment that will make their lives easier and keep us from worrying about them.
Fritz’s future is not completely settled. A family friend, Carol, has agreed to take him when she returns from vacation, but it’s still an option for my sister, Beverly, to take him, which would allow our father to see him more often.
I will let you know how that works out.
And whether I awaken from this dream.
See you tomorrow, Dr. Randolph.
