Amy Rohde, who has been written about and has even written for MyPetsDoctor.com (Story One, Story Two, Story Three) has a new pet and couldn’t wait to tell our readers about him. Here is the story in her own words. She calls it:

Just Because I Cannot Leave Well-Enough Alone

Because of our family’s experiences with Brindle last fall, we have been open to the idea of another floppy-faced dog joining our clan– one who did not have to be returned to his rightful owner.

This pup (pit/mastiff cross, from what we were told) was the product of two people who thought a dog would solve their marital problems.  When they decided to split up, only a few months later, neither one wanted the dog, and they were set to take him to the pound.

Without further ado– Oscar!  He hadn’t been well taken care of, but is responding very well to proper care!

PS:  Amy has written a book about her family’s experiences with Hurricanes Katrina and Rita:  The Katrina Diary
